Philippe Clicquot opened a house in Reims in 1772. At the age of 27, Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, the widow Clicquot, took over the family wine business in 1805. Veuve Clicquot is one of the most significant houses in Champagne.
Veuve Clicquot Rose' Champagne is a brut rose' blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier. 12% is still red wine.
Nose: "Red and black fruits(cherry, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry), spices licorice, pastry (biscuit, croissant), orange zest and peel, gingerbread and toasted bread."
Palate: "Full bodied and deliciously fruity, with intense flavors of juicy ripe strawberries and cherries, Veuve Clicquot’s Rosé is a burst of red fruits."
